Important Questions / Topics for Final exam of SDC B.Tech(ECE) 3rd Semester

Hey Students
All the best for semester exams
Here i am giving some important questions here for SDC paper.
prepare them.

Some important Questions/Topics for Semiconductor Devices & Circuits exam B.Tech.(ECE) 3rd Semester

1) Draw Circuit diagram of half wave rectifier and Full wave rectifier. And calculate various parameters for them.
2) Explain working of shunt capacitor filter with the help of neat and clean diagram.
3) What is Photo Electric effect? name the devices
Hint:- In the photoelectric effect, electrons are emitted from matter (metals and non-metallic solids, liquids or gases) as a consequence of their absorption of energy from electromagnetic radiation of very short wavelength, such as visible or ultraviolet light.
- Photo conductive effect (When light is absorbed by a material such as a semiconductor, the number of free electrons and electron holes changes and raises its electrical conductivity.)- devices – photo diodes, photo transistors
- Photo resistive effect (When light is absorbed by a material its resistance decreases with increasing incident light intensity) –devices – Light dependent resistance (LDR)
- Photo emissive effect (When incident particles of sufficient energy, when hitting a surface or passing through some material, induce the emission of electrons or ions) – devices – photo multiplier tubes.
- Photo voltaic effect (The photo voltaic effect is the creation of voltage or electric current in a material upon exposure to light) – devices – solar cells
4) What is need of voltage regulator? And its types
5) Explain SMPS (switch mode power supply) in detail with diagram and working.

6) Draw and explain characteristics of transistor in CE configuration.
7) Derive h-parameter model for two port network.
8) Draw h-parameter equaling circuit of transistor amplifier in CE configuration
9) Analyze CE amplifier circuit using h-parameter model.
10) Explain miller’s theorem.
11) Explain frequency response of R-C coupled amplifier
12) What is the need of transistor biasing? What is stability factor derive expression.
13) Draw different biasing circuits
14) Explain self biasing circuit
15) Write a note on High frequency response of Transistor amplifier

16) Compare positive and negative feedback
17) Draw diagram of different feedback topologies and types of amplifiers.
18) State and explain Barkhausen’s criteria.
19) Draw circuit diagram of different types of oscillators.
20) What is the difference between an ordinary amplifier and power amplifier?
21) Explain types of power amplifier.

22) Draw and explain JFET characteristics.
23) Derive small signal equivalent circuit of FET amplifier
24) Explain Enhancement mode and Depletion mode MOSFET.
25) Write a note on V-MOSFET.
26) Draw different biasing circuits for FET (common source, common drain, common gate).

Paper VLSI Design B.Tech 4th year &th semester a good book

Functional and behavioral verification of correctness forms the bottleneck in current VLSI design systems. For economical reasons, design of VLSI circuits must be completely validated before manufacturing. Current VLSI validation is mainly done through extensive simulation. The emerging alternative is based on formal design and verification methods that guarantee correctness. This book describes original work in all aspects of formal hardware design methods. Topics covered include high-level specification, hardware description languages, formal hardware verification methods, guided synthesis methods, correctness preserving transformations, use of theorem provers for verification, formal proof of correctness, MOS timing verification methods, design for verifiability, and practical experiences.
